"EEEEEERRRAAAAAGH!!!" Andross slammed his fists down on his command desk. Foiled, again, by that rotten fox! This was unacceptable! It must not be allowed to continue! Star Fox must be destroyed! "All remaining units, concentrate your efforts on Fox McCloud! Destroy him!" he screamed. Andross seemed to have lost his mind in his rage, and his soldiers obeyed without question. Andross' rage was terrible. Better to be shot down and die instantly than to suffer at the hands of their general.
The fighters swerved at Fox, taking shots at every opportunity, and actually scoring several hits. Their fear of Andross was driving them to greater feats than ever before. "Gah... The stabilizer's hit!" Fox groaned. Without the stabilizer, his control would be erratic at best. "Great..."
"Hey, Foxie! You ain't givin' up ova there, are ya?" Falcon's voice came over the comm system, and the ace pilot shot by in front of him, leaving a smart bomb behind and wiping out a small swathe of fighters in his wake. "Come on, Fox, get it together. Hit the auto system repair!"
Fox grinned, pulling into a barrel roll and swerving toward the smart bomb dropped off by his wingman. Collecting it at the same moment he hit the auto repair button, he pulled into a loop to avoid an explosive encounter with a missile on his tail. "Take this!" And then he shot down the offender.
"L-Lord Andross! Our fighters are dropping like flies! Team Star Fox is just too good!"
Andross growled, his knuckles turning white under his gloves. "This... This is impossible! It's just four ships! Why are they so impossible to take down?! I didn't want to have to use this yet..." He turned to his assistant, who cringed just from Andross' stare. "Ready my personal fighter."
"Y-Yes, Lord Andross..." And he ran off to do so. "Star Fox will be destroyed... I will see to it myself!"
~~~~~~
Andross lay in the cockpit of his shattered and broken fighter. He had lost, again. Unequivocally, and completely. He had lost. And here he was, drifting in space, life support running low, and about to die at any minute from wounds sustained in his defeat. All around him, the husks of his fleets and ships lay in charred ruin. It was a disgrace... Four fighters did this... Just... Four... As Andross' eyes closed, for perhaps the final time, that was the thought that went through his head.
~~~~~~
Letting out a cough, Andross twitched. And then, without warning, he shot bolt upright into a sitting position with a horrible shrieking bellow of pain, rage, and so many other feelings it was a wonder he didn't burst. "STAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRR FOOOOOOOOOX!!!!" he roared, shaking his fists at the air. "He is no... Ordinary pilot..." Andross mumbled. He didn't question HOW he had survived, he didn't question WHY he had survived. None of that mattered. But those questions were soon to be answered for him, regardless.
"Hey. Old man." The harsh voice of Wolf O'Donnel, the leader of Team Star Fox's antithesis, Team Star Wolf. "You didn't think you were gonna die before you paid me, did you?" He thumbed his snout, folding his arms across his chest. "The parts, and the sample of that ore you wanted are here. The difficulty was substantial, and saving your hide wasn't in the contract, so..." A cruel, predatory grin flashed across his face. "... I'm upping my costs by twenty-five percent."
"Money is of no concern!" Andross barked. "I had already wired double the agreed upon amount to your 'account' shortly after the job was agreed upon. And now that the supplies are here, the transaction will be finalized. Here." He pulled something from his pocket and threw it at Wolf. Some sort of card-like device. "Good riddance."
"Pleasure doing business with you too, old man," Wolf sneered, stalking out of the room. "There's a fighter for you to take when you leave, in the first hangar."
Andross rose. His eyes were shining with the kind of expression only a mad scientist could understand. With his new invention, his goal would be realized... First, Team Star Fox would fall! Then the Lylat System! Then the entire UNIVERSE! The mad scientist let out an echoing stream of cursed, horrible laughter as he strode to the hangar, leaving for Venom, and his labarotory...
~~~~~~
"Yes... Now, it is complete! With this, my forces can be transported anywhere in the cosmos within 5,000 light years instantaneously!" With a laugh, he gripped the switch, turning to look at the portal spawner. "And with this, the road to my victory is assured..." He pulled down on the switch, and everything went black.
The entire laboratory; nay, the entire planet was plunged into blackness for several moments. And then, slowly, light began to return. But in the portal spawner, light remained absent. Some kind of non-light rested there. IT shimmered and rippled faintly, and occasionally it would let off a bolt of purple lightning, but other than that, it was a solid black sphere, three meters across.
"Yes... Yes!" Andross threw back his head and laughed maniacally. "YES!!!" With a madman's glee, he strode toward the portal. Pressing a button on his wrist, an alarm went off within his lab, and immediately five dozen of his soldiers filed in. "Listen up!" Andross barked. "With this portal, I can teleport us anywhere in the system! We will take Corneria, and the rest of the Lylat System will fall before us like dominoes!"
The soldiers let out a loud "HOOAH!" and thrust their weapons skyward. "Hail, Andross!"
With a crazed look in his eyes, Andross went to the wall and retrieved his personal rifle and his cape. Grabbing a bracelet of some sort, he placed it on his wrist and, with the press of a button, was enveloped in a bright blue glow. "Let us go!" And he walked through the portal, his soldiers following obediently behind.
And when he emerged, his excitement died. This... Was not Corneria. Not at all. It was somewhere far, FAR different. He was surrounded by a ring of people wearing primitive steel armor, wielding primitive weapons. And one of them had the GALL to address Andross personally. "Halt! Who are you, and what business do you have at Hyrule Castle?"
With a blaze in his eyes, Andross lifted his rifle and, with a single shot, put a hole through the guard's chest, armor and all. No energy shielding, eh? Andros grinned sadistically. Perfect. "My business is with your leader, mortals."
"NO!" With a sound of a thunderclap, everything seemed to go stock still, frozen in time. And then, with a bolt of lightning, a new figure was standing before Andross. "No one shall claim Hyrule as their own, save me."
"Ha! Those who stand in my way are destined to fall!" Andross barked, and lifted his rifle, firing a shot at the man.
"Hrr..." With a smirk and a curious, growling laugh, he raised a hand and caught the blast, which dissipated harmlessly with a crackling of blue lightning. "Your powers are weak," he stated, clenching his fist, lightning crackling around it. "But mine are not!" And with a swift motion, he flung out a bolt of dark purple lightning at the old man before him.
Andross' energy shields flashed an angry red color at the impact, but slowly faded back to their blue color. "It seems you are not much better," he cackled.
"Why have you come here?"
"To conquer this land, and enlist it in my empire, and use it to dominate the Lylat System!" It was a lie; he had come here by accident. But, perhaps he COULD use this land for such a purpose.
The other grinned cruelly, letting out that same, curious growling noise as before. "Allow me to have this land, old man... And I will conquer this 'Lylat System' for you."
"Oh? You think you can?"
"I am Ganondorf Dragmire, the Gerudo King of Thieves! I am the Great King of Evil! None can withstand my power! It is only through the power of the accursed Master Sword that my domination of this land has been held at bay."
Andross laughed. "Then, allow me to accept your offer, Ganondorf Dragmire..." he said with a mock bow. "I am called Andross. And we have much work to do." With a grin, he turned back to his portal. "Come with me, oh Great King of Evil."
Ganondorf stalked through the portal after this 'Andross', a cruel smile playing at his lips. With just a little of Andross' 'power'... Even that boy and his Master Sword couldn't stop him...
~~~~~~
Several weeks later, Andross sat at the head of a table. Situated around the table were the greatest villains and evils of their respective dimensions and worlds. They had all been easy enough to manipulate and con into helping him. For someone of his intelligence, it was quite easy... With the right promises and 'gifts' they were ALL simply so EAGER to assist him! It was almost pathetic.
But here in the Lylat System where he held 'absolute' power, he had nothing to fear. "Gentlemen... Soon, all worlds will bow before us..." he declared. "Their defenses will crumble and fall like sand in the wind! And they will all bend their knees before the League of Dark Dividers!" With this last thundered statement, all gathered rose up into wild roars and cheers of approval.
Andross could only grin. It was too easy, manipulating these fools...
This, Ganondorf Dragmire... Powerful, malevolent, and damn near a God.
King Bowser... Perhaps, physically, one of the strongest at this little gathering. His power and endurance were no small things, and his armies and legions were quite massive.
Shao Kahn... The evil emperor from Outworld. Time and time again he had tried to conquer the various 'realms' from his dimension, but had always come up short. His power, skill and tactics in battle were to be feared.
Ridley... The dragon commander of the Space Pirates. His legions were very advanced technologically, and had countless thousands, if not tens of thousands, of very, very capable troopers. And Ridley's might itself was no small thing; he was very powerful in his own right.
M. Bison... Andross was unsure why this man was here... He had seemed willing enough to help, and seemed to possess some sort of power. Always welcome.
Albert Wesker... Quite an enigmatic man. Full of power, physical, political, and monetary. He had his own goals for helping, it seemed. He was more than welcome, naturally, and with his finances, the League could do SO much more...
And finally, Doctor Ivo Robotnik... More commonly known as Doctor Eggman. The rotund man had a massive I.Q, perhaps even greater than Andross' own, and had an untold army of machines to do his bidding. His intelligence seemed to leave him somewhat lacking in common sense, but it was still an asset.
"And so, gentlemen... With our combined forces, we will crush EVERYTHING!"
~~~~~~
It was some months later, and upon each of their home worlds, each of the Dark Dividers now sat upon a throne. Andross himself sat upon the grandest one, a device on each wrist which could project a D-Beam at will, to molecularly de-construct an unfortunate target, scattering them between dozens of dimensions and effectively killing them. Yes... Andross' rule was absolute and unquestioned.
And with the League ruling in such absolute authority...there was nothing to stop them. Their power and authority was unquestionable. Let the heroes try to stop them; it would be futile. From his throne, Andross could see across all dimensions. All was going according to plan... It was so very easy, after all...
With a laugh, Andross folded his arms over his chest, leaning back in his chair. "When worlds and dimensions merge... So many things become possible..." he cackled. "In such a split reality, anything can happen... And the villains have won this day..." He grinned. "Yes... WE have won."
The fighters swerved at Fox, taking shots at every opportunity, and actually scoring several hits. Their fear of Andross was driving them to greater feats than ever before. "Gah... The stabilizer's hit!" Fox groaned. Without the stabilizer, his control would be erratic at best. "Great..."
